Grana Padano is a classic grating and table cheese from the Northern provinces of Italy. Grana is a hard and grainy-textured cows milk cheese. Its name, Grana, comes from the characteristic graininess that bceomes more pronounced as the cheese ages. Grate it into soups or on pasta, or eat it by the chunk with tomatoes, onions, balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.
